MUHSEN Service-Certification is a program built to help qualify organizations and services across North America in becoming properly equipped to meet the needs of those in our communities living with disabilities. This FREE program is for non-masjid services such as non-profits, small businesses, educational institutions and more.

About MUHSEN’s Service-Certification Program

Why it’s Important for Organizations to be Certified

Muhsen is a nonprofit umbrella organization serving children and adults with any intellectual, mental, or physical disability. Muhsen’s aim is to establish an inclusive and accessible environment for individuals with disabilities and their families. Muhsen will assume an active role to advocate and educate, conduct training, and implement programs and services across North America to improve the experience within mosques, conventions, related classes and events, as well as to engender a positive and welcoming community for persons with disabilities.

This Service Certification equips organizations, businesses, non-profit entities and educational institutions with a better understanding for what it takes to be accessible and accommodating. This is not a replacement to the standards outlined by the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), but is meant to supplement it and bring about a welcome change and facilitate participation for all.

(all points must be met)

Wheelchair accessibility
Facilitator for Special Needs Services
Advertising disability services on website w/MUHSEN partnership
Closed Captioning services on media and video
Disability awareness events at least 2x/year
Event exclusively for Families w/Special Needs at 1x/year
Sign language interpreter (advertised and provided where requested)
Participation in community service/ advocacy programs
